Luigi’s Italian Restaurant & Bar
The original Luigi’s opened in Fayetteville in 1958 and is still family-owned and operated today. Their service is always friendly, and they go the extra mile to make sure that their patrons are having a great time. Whether you’re in Luigi’s on a date, visiting with friends or family, or want a quiet lunch, they’ll make your experience a special one. Their food is Central Italian, from the Tuscan region, and they offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
For an appetizer, we recommend the zucchini fritti: delicately sliced zucchini lightly breaded and fried and served with a ranch dressing. The crab dip is also a great choice as it’s home-made and oven-baked with olive oil, and served with Romano cheese toast. As the main course, the linguine with red clam sauce is a winner. Its made from littleneck clams sauteed in garlic, tomatoes, olive oil, and marinara sauce and served over linguine noodles.
Pierro’s Italian Bistro
The owners of Pierros wanted to create a European-style bistro in downtown Fayetteville serving authentic Italian food. They’ve succeeded magnificently. From the striped awnings over the windows to the exposed brick walls to the decorative hardwoods and the metal rails, you’ll feel like you’re in a cafe in Italy rather than Fayetteville. The flair for design is matched by a flair for food, and the combination of food and decorations has brought loyal customers back again and again.
As an appetizer, their award-winning shrimp scampi Sicilia is top of our recommendations, It’s made with tiger shrimp sauteed with garlic, olive oil, and white wine finished with butter. For a lighter choice, the Caprese balsamic is excellent. It’s homemade buffalo mozzarella with red peppers and basil drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Don’t forget to save space for dessert, the zeppole ala mode is fantastic. Pierro’s is located at 217 Hay Street, and they’re open daily from 11 am.
Little Italy Pizzeria and Restaurant
Little Italy opened in 2007 and brings Sicilian-style Italian food to the heart of Fayetteville. The chef-owner takes great pride in making only authentic dishes with the freshest ingredients to stir your mind and your palate. Their decor is bright and airy, and their food is superb. As an appetizer, we highly recommend the stuffed shrimp with crab for its delicate flavor.
As the main course, the eggplant rollatini is a delight, made with angel air pasta, ricotta cheese, and tomato sauce rolled in eggplant then baked with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Don’t miss them at 1400 Walter Reed Road #130.
